Israeli warplanes destroyed a series of Hamas-controlled targets inside the Gaza Strip Monday following an unprovoked rocket attack that injured seven and destroyed a family’s home outside of Tel Aviv.
“An Israeli airstrike has destroyed a multi-story building in Gaza City that housed a Hamas-affiliated insurance company,” reports the Associated Press.
The Israeli military confirmed the site was “a secret headquarters of the Hamas terror organization” used by the terror network’s intelligence unit.
The United Nations Secretary General said he was “gravely concerned” with the developing situation; with a top spokesperson saying “further escalation is likely to make an already bad situation worse, in particular for civilians in and close to Gaza.”

MAKING HISTORY: President Trump Signs Proclamation Recognizing Golan Heights as Israeli Territory
Flanked by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at a joint press conference inside the White House Monday, President Trump signed an official proclamation recognizing the Golan Heights as sovereign Israeli territory.
The Commander-in-Chief signed the order hours after a rocket attack from inside the Gaza Strip destroyed a home outside of Tel Aviv; prompting Netanyahu to cut-short his visit to Washington and return to Israel to oversee his military’s response.

“This was a long time in the making. It should’ve taken place many decades ago,” said the President at the signing ceremony.
Israel gained control of the Golan Heights during the Six Day War of 1967 and officially annexed the region into Israel in the early 1980s.
The international community considers the area “disputed territory” and views development and housing construction by the Jewish State as a violation of international law.
MIDDLE EAST ON EDGE: Jerusalem Shoots Down SYRIAN Warplane Over Israel
Israeli forces shot down a Syrian warplane Tuesday after the fighter jet infiltrated Israeli airspace while conducting a mission near the Golan Heights, reports Fox News.
The Syrian aircraft flew over one mile into the Jewish state’s territory before it was destroyed by a pair of Patriot Missiles confirmed a spokesperson for the country’s military.
“Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus said in a news conference the jet crashed in the Southern Golan Heights on the Syrian side. He added the Israeli military has sent numerous warnings to prevent anyone from violating its airspace,” writes Fox.
This is the second incident involving the IDF and a Syrian warplane; the first time was in September 2014 when the Israeli military shot down a Russian-manufactured jet after it infiltrated the Golan Heights.
