First it was, “If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep your healthcare plan.” That turned out to be a lie. Then it was, “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. Period.” That also turned out to be a lie. Now we know the next shoe to drop …
If you like your drugs, your medication, you may not be able to keep your medication. Unless, of course, we add the new administration caveat: You can keep your medication, but you'll just have to pay more for it!
If you read only one article today, make it this report from Forbes: “No, You Can't Keep Your Drugs Either Under ObamaCare.” It is a damning indictment of the underlying issues of the ObamaCare model. Premium costs are controlled by increasing deductibles while limiting access to doctors and covered prescriptions. Want to try and find out if your medications are even covered under ObamaCare's formulary? Good luck with that! Forbes writes:
“Health plans are cheapening their drug formularies – just like they cheapened their networks of doctors. That’s how they’re paying for the benefits that President Obama promised, everything from free contraception to a leveling of premiums between older (and typically costlier) beneficiaries, and younger consumers.
But the need to fund these promises will put drug formularies in play for the long run. New medicines will remain off formularies, or make it on after long delays. Patients will find that costlier specialty drugs are simply not covered.”
Losing your health plan, your doctor, your medication … if Obama had told us the truth about ObamaCare, the law would have gone down in flames in Congress. Even Democrats couldn't have supported such nonsense.
Do you want another outrageous example of how ObamaCare is negatively effecting Americans?
Volunteer firefighters could be the next victims of ObamaCare. Even though they are “volunteers” according to the Department of Labor, according to the IRS (which is in charge of enforcing ObamaCare) they are “employees.” If you will recall, ObamaCare has a regulation that any company with more than 50 employees must offer health insurance. This means that fire departments across the nation could be faced with the burden of providing health coverage. Where are they expected to find that extra money? This means that volunteers could be laid off, in order to fall under the ObamaCare threshold, putting lives in danger. This is absurd!
