Our Nobel Peace prize winning president continues his trip to Israel today. The Anointed One sure has his work cut out for him in order to make good on his promise he made years ago to restore America's standing in the world.
Making his first trip to Israel since he's been president, Obama's relationship has been described by some, even in the left-wing Obama-mania liberal media, as “one of the worst.” That's according to MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell, who has been covering administrations back to Ronald Reagan.
I would argue that the Anointed One's trip to Israel comes four years too late. Instead of starting his presidency in 2009 by engaging in his suck up to the Muslim world apology tour, Obama should have started in Israel.
Nonetheless, the president's visit has not come without controversy. As he prepared to speak with Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas, Palestinian militants were launching rockets into Israel. This didn't stop Obama from holding a press conference in Ramallah, standing under a banner of terrorist Yasser Arafat. Then as Barack Obama spoke to Israeli students, we get word that Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is threatening to destroy the Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa if Israel launched a military attack. During that speech, Obama affirmed that, “America will do what we must to prevent a nuclear-armed Iran.” Also during his speech to Israel students, Obama said: “Make no mistake, those who adhere to the ideology of rejecting Israel's right to exist, they might as well reject the earth beneath them or the sky above because Israel is not going anywhere.”
But just as a word of warning, don't dare ask about the failures of Obama's Middle East strategy, or you will be labeled “incorrigible” by the Anointed One like NBC chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd.
