Outrageous Statement of the Day: Matthews

It’s not very difficult to come up with an outrageous statement of the day if you watch to Chris Matthews. Here’s the statement, in reaction to Eric Cantor’s speech on conservatism:

Your party ought to be ashamed of itself. You spent months in every state legislative capital trying to keep black people and poor people from voting or young people. Now you're out pretending, in this Potemkin village you’re constructing, that you care about opportunity in America. It's an absurdity.

So according to Chris Matthews’ logic (if there is such thing) enforcing Voter ID laws equates to trying to keep black people, poor people and young people from voting. Forget the concept of preventing voter fraud. Nope, to liberals it is all about suppressing minority groups and the GOP worked actively to do so last year. Also notice how Chris Matthews implies that Republicans don’t care about opportunity. This is probably because liberals are concerned about the equality of outcomes whereas conservatives are generally concerned about the equality of opportunity.
