Outrageous Statement of the Day: Pelosi

Yesterday, our Campaigner-in-Chief met with House Democrats. The result of that meeting led to one of the most ridiculous comments I've heard in a long time. It's so ridiculous, that I don't even think that Nancy Pelosi believed it herself when she said it. Here's the set up: In reaction to Obama's dedication to help elect Democrats in 2014, Nancy Pelosi felt the need to clarify what this meant in the context of Obama's current Charm Offensive. That's when she came up with this gem:

“I don’t think he’s ever done anything for political reasons. He didn’t want other people to attribute any political motivation to what he’s doing. This is a President who has been as bipartisan as any as I’ve ever seen.”

You have got to be kidding me! This president has taken partisan political pandering to unprecedented levels. Just last week he was busy telling Americans that the Republicans were essentially responsible for children not getting vaccines, airport delays and unsafe meat due to cuts to food safety inspections. We were going to have to chose to fund either the poor kids or the disabled kids, because the Republicans refused to come to increase taxes. That was just last week! What about his politicization of the national debt? During the Bush administration, $4 trillion in national debt was “un-patriotic,” yet his own $6 trillion in debt is somehow noble? Pretty much everything this president has done has been for political reasons. To steal a great line from Paul Ryan earlier today, “The Vatican was not the only place blowing smoke this week.”
