The White House, the People's House, is closed to the American public but it is open to … a Muslim scholar with ties to terrorist organizations?
Sheikh Abdallah Bin Bayyah is the vice president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, a group which reportedly supports Hamas. The United States considers Hamas to be a terrorist organization. This group, the International Union of Muslim Scholars, was founded by Egyptian cleric Yusuf Qaradawi, who is a leader in the Muslim Brotherhood and banned from entering the United States. If you will recall, the Muslim Brotherhood has called for the death of Jews and Americans serving in Iraq.
News of Bin Bayyah's visit to the White House was made public on his website. The nature of the meeting was said to be about arming the rebels in Syria.
The optics of such a politically charged figure visiting the White House while school children are turned away from its doors is sad.
On another subject related to radical Islam, have you heard the controversy surrounding the “Faces of Global Terrorism” in Seattle? In Seattle the FBI was running these ads on the side of buses called the “Faces of Global Terrorism.” The ads featured pictures of 16 of the world's top terrorists, ranging from destinations such as Africa, the Philippines, America, Malaysia and Chechnya. So what's the problem? The problem is that, according to the FBI, only 2 of the FBI's top 32 “Most Wanted Terrorists” are not connected to Islam in some way. In other words, the ads were deemed offensive to Muslims.
Last week Democratic Rep. Jim McDermott wrote a letter to the FBI asking that the ads be taken down because it is “not only offensive to Muslims and ethnic minorities, but it encourages racial and religious profiling.” McDermott says, ”When you start saying that this is the face of terrorism, you are really stigmatizing a whole group of people.”
The ads will be taken down within the next few days.
This is political correctness run amok. If these people are guilty of a crime, then so be it.
