Selling access

If there was ever a story to upset the Occupy Wall Street crowd over the influence of money in politics, this would be it.

The New York Times (of all places) reported over the weekend that the supposedly “independent” Organizing for America is offering quarterly direct access to the President for donors who are raising at least $500,000 for the organization. The organization just happens to support Obama's agenda.

When questioned about the report, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney literally ran away from the podium directing reporter to contact the organization.

So we have the self-proclaimed “most transparent administration in history” essentially offering direct access to the president, for those who donate to an organization which happens to support all of the presidents policies. Seems like something that would cause Democrat and mainstream media outrage, if it wasn't for the fact that it is Barack Obama.
