Union vote racist?

There's no doubt that unions around the country have been losing members for quite some time. With a loss of membership comes a loss of power. Needless to say, the unions aren't going to accept this quietly. Many of them have made a concerted effort to recruit new members, and where better to do that than in the South where unionization has been virtually absent.

The United Auto Workers focused its efforts on Tennessee. It spent millions of dollars trying to unionize a Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga. Just a few days ago, its efforts proved fruitless as workers voted to reject the UAW contract.

This was a hugely embarrassing blow to the United Auto Workers and the union effort as a whole. That's where the liberal media picked up the ball and started to make excuses as to why the effort failed: racism.

Timothy Noah of The New Republic told MSNBC that there weren't a lot of black workers at this plant. This was among his reasons as to why the union was rejected. The race card has become so overplayed by the liberal media that it's hard to believe anyone takes it seriously anymore.
