Former late-night television host Jon Stewart openly laughed-off reports that Louis CK sexually harassed multiple woman back in 2016; giggling at the questioner and saying CK was a “wonderful man.”

Stewart was speaking with former Obama advisor David Axelrod in front of a live audience when he was asked whether he had heard any of the rumors swirling around one of America’s most famous comedians.

“I wanted to ask you about the last interview on your show that was with Louis CK. From my memory, I think that was after some of the rumors about alleged harassment of female comedians had started to come out,” asked the audience member. “I just wanted to know […] if there was a discussion about this on the show.”

“Wait, I’m a little lost. So, the internet said that Louis harassed women?” deflected Stewart, laughing off the question. “You know who you’re talking to right?”

“I just wanted to know if there was any discussion about that on your show?” pressed the questioner.

“I didn’t see the tweets,” joked Stewart. “I apologize, I’m not that connected to that world. I don’t know what you’re talking about. I can’t really answer, I don’t know what to say. All I can tell you is that I’ve worked with Louis for 30 years and he’s a wonderful man, and I’ve never heard anything about this.”
