4:05 PM ET – Steve Moore, author of Trumponomics: Inside the America First Plan to Revive Our Economy, and senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation, and Chuck DeVore, is Vice President of National Initiatives at the Texas Public Policy Foundation. He was a California Assemblyman and is a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army Retired Reserve – today we address the economy and a new generation of politicians who believe that socialism is the answer. Perhaps they haven’t seen Venezuela’s demise, and nation of people who are currently in their 4th day of a black out.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blasted the American economic model during a speech in Texas over the weekend; saying “capitalism” was “not redeemable” because it places “profit” over the “human and environmental cost.”

“The tough part about this, about like, is capitalism redeemable? For me, when I think about what those definitions are, capitalism isn’t, to me, it’s an ideology of capital. The most important thing is the concentration of capital,” claimed Cortez.

“It means that we seek and prioritize profit […] above all else. We seek it at any human and environmental cost. That is what that means. To me, that ideology is not sustainable and cannot be redeemed,” she added.

4:30 PM ET – House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Doug Collins of Georgia took transparency to a whole new level on Friday, making Bruce Ohr’s closed door testimony open to the public. Collins intends to do with this with other transcripts as well.
Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.), Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, made the following statement on the House floor regarding the transcript of Bruce Ohr’s interview by the Committee on the Judiciary, joint with the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

Below are the remarks as prepared.

Rep. Doug Collins: Mr. Speaker, last Congress, the Judiciary Committee interviewed multiple DOJ and FBI officials about their actions regarding the 2016 elections.

People anticipate the Mueller report soon. Will he find any so-called “collusion”? Or was the only “collusion” among agency personnel who hated the president and started this investigation?

Our interview transcripts were pertinent to a congressional investigation, but the 115thCongress ended, the investigation was closed, and copies were shared with certain members of Congress.

Out of an abundance of caution, we gave DOJ an opportunity to review them for information that would endanger national security, but after many months and little progress, our patience has grown thin. The proposed redactions have nothing to do with national security and are anathema to our goal of government transparency.

I am, therefore, today making one of these transcripts public.

Mr. Speaker, to avoid burdening GPO with a 200-page transcript, I request the link www.dougcollins.house.gov/ohr be placed in the record so the American people can review the transcript of Bruce Ohr’s interview.

I intend to make other transcripts public soon. I’m willing to consider any reasonable redactions DOJ makes in a timely manner, but won’t allow these transcripts to remain shrouded in secrecy.
