The midterm elections are less than one hundred days away.

Based on recent polling, Americans aren't too happy with Washington. This can especially be said for Congress.

It's approval is at an all-time low of 15%. A vast majority of Americans would describe Congress as “unproductive.” Only 7% of Americans say they have “a great deal” of confidence in Congress.

Here are the numbers that should scare members of Congress as we approach the midterm election.

According to a recent poll conducted by Pew Research, “About seven in 10 Americans (69 percent) say they don't want most members of Congress reelected … An additional 36 percent say they don't want their own representative reelected. Both of those are the highest in the past two decades.”

While these numbers are at record highs, turnover in Congress remains rare. Maybe it's time we change that and make DC listen.
