It’s Official! House Democrats voted down a Republican measure that would have prevented the use of the “deem and pass” strategy, more commonly referred to as the Slaughter rule. This paves the way for the House to pass the Senate health care bill without members voting on the legislation. “You learn this in 1st grade, the Constitution is about which branch of government does what,” an angry Sean argued, “How do we explain this to our kids when we take the Constitution and turn it on its head.” The American Spectator’s Philip Klein had a great review of what happened today. You owe it to yourself to understand the egregious Constitutional violations that took place today and work hard to hold accountable those who committed them. Rep. Mike Pence:
Indiana Congressman Mike Pence joined Sean on the NewsMaker hotline to discuss the latest procedural happenings in Washington. There’s no doubt that a vote is going to happen Sunday but Congressman Pence doesn’t think the votes are there to pass, just yet. “We’re in the fight Sean,” shared Pence, “just a gut check I think they’re somewhere around ten or twelve members down.” It seems that the battle is being won but it’s not over, three days in Washington is a lifetime.
Sean was joined by Fox News’ Bret Baier to discuss his latest controversial interview with President Obama. The controversy began when President Obama skirted around the issue of whether he’d support the Slaughter Rule proposals. “I thought you did a great job with this interview,” complimented Sean, “the questions you asked were extraordinarily relevant and respectful.” This is a must see interview and you can see it on Fox!
