Cold Hard Facts on Border Security
Sean kicked off the show talking about the Arizona immigration legislation and border security in general. This legislation was created in response to increasing violence on the US-Mexico border including a 77% increase in attacks on US Border Patrol agents. “I was with the Border Patrol Agents,” Sean told the audience on his afternoon radio show,” I was told that on a daily basis that the officers are attacked with rocks and other debris.” It’s no wonder why 70% of Arizona residents support this legislation. The bottom line is the border is unsafe and Arizonians are finally taking matters into their own hands because Washington has failed them. Mike Ghouse and Pamela Geller: A Giant Mosque At Ground Zero?
From the controversial news category comes the story about a giant 13 story Islamic Mosque within steps of Ground Zero in New York City. Sean was joined by Pamela Geller and Mike Ghouse to discuss this issue. Geller, Executive Director of the Freedom Defense Initiative and Mike Ghouse, the Director of the World Muslim Congress, engaged in a huge debate. “What can be more insulting than a monster mosque in the shadow of the World Trade Center that were brought down by an Islamic jihad attack,” argued Geller, “it’s time for Americans to stand up against the evil of Islamic supremacist.” Ghouse offered, “Everyone is crying out loud for Muslims to create positive change but this building will do just that – create a voice for the moderate Muslim.” “This mosque is scheduled to open September 11th, 2011 and will apparently have a swimming pool in the building damaged by the fu selage of one of the planes that destroyed the World Trade Center,” noted Hannity. It’s a difficult line between freedom and sensitivity to that sacred area. For more information, visit the Daily News.

Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson and Councilman Michael Brown: Is The Arizona Law Racist?
Sean was joined on the NewsMaker line by Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson and Councilman Michael Brown to discuss the latest on the Arizona immigration law. Today, Councilman Michael Brown introduced legislation in the Washington DC city council to require the city to divest state and municipal bonds that come from Arizona. “I introduced this law because we want to send a message that the Arizona law is racist because it will lead to racial discrimination,” argued Councilman Brown. “The law specifically states that you cannot racially profile,” argued Hannity, “in practice there are 42 states that mandate some form of identification.” Reverend Peterson countered, “This law is about Arizona being under siege and it’s not about civil rights but rather protection of its citizens.” That’s really the point here, isn’t it? Arizona is faced with record violence on the borders and they’re fight ing back with legislation that makes it easier for law enforcement officials to protect the borders. The mere fact that racial profiling is explicitly made illegal shows that Arizona legislators aren’t interested in discrimination; they’re interested in saving lives.
