Small Crowds Great Clinton
Former President Clinton attended a rally to support Virg Bernero as Michigan’s next governor – to a gym that was only one-third full. Although the crowd hoisted signs that stated “Virg Surge,” the turnout at the rally was anemic. More than 500 people came to the rally, about one third the capacity at the Renaissance High School, even though Clinton used to command full houses wherever he went, especially in Detroit { Article}. “This is very symptomatic of what’s going on. Nobody cares when Bill Clinton is coming to town,” Sean joked.

Meet The Candidate: Francis Becker
GOP candidate for New York’s 4th district (the district Sean grew up in on Long Island), Francis Becker, joined the program in the show’s second hour. Becker is up against Carolyn McCarthy, a fourteen year congresswoman. New York Democrats more becoming increasingly more concerned about House races involving veteran politicians like McCarthy. The race is tight, but polls now show Becker with a slight lead. “We believe we’ve pulled ahead,” Becker explained to Sean, “A couple of weeks ago we were behind by just one point and now we believe we’ve forged ahead. The ground swell for my campaign continues to grow.” Becker detailed how McCarthy has been wrong on numerous issues. “She’s voted for cap and trade, ObamaCare and the stimulus. She was also the deciding vote to close Congress and send everyone home before deciding on whether to extend the Bush tax cuts." Sean believes Becker has a good shot at winnin g, and as the NY Daily News wrote this morning { Article}, “The GOP operators smell blood. Carolyn McCarthy is fighting to save her political career.”
