Trust But Verify
A re-energized Sean Hannity took the airwaves more determined to make Obama a one-term president than ever. Sean stressed that we must hold our newly elected politicians to their campaign promises. “I’m a trust but verify guy,” said Sean. “I’m a Regan guy. We better make sure that these new conservatives get it right. We have sixty three, about to be seated, House Republicans – there can not be anymore START deals with Obama.” Sean offered a stern warning to those new members of the House and Senate. “They’ve gotta understand something very profound. They were elected by the Tea Party movement, by Conservatives and Independents. They were not elected to go to Washington to go along and get along. They were not elected to go to Washington and make nice with Reid and Pelosi. This is not the time to let Obama resurrect himself,” Sean cautioned. “They were elected to lead. And if they don’t lead they will lose and probably pave the way for Obama’s re-election.”
Gov. Christie Slammed For Disney Vacation
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has come under fire this past week for his decision to take a Disney World vacation while his state dug out of a massive Nor’easter. But, in typical Christie fashion, the Governor explained to Sean that we would still have gone on the vacation if given the opportunity to make his decision over again. “The first and most important thing to look at is how New Jersey performed during the storm,” Christie told Sean. “If you compare us to other places like New York City and Philadelphia, our roads were cleared relatively quickly because we put together a plan that I’d been working on for three days before I left for vacation. We were prepared and ready to go and I was in constant contact during my vacation.” Christie stressed to Sean that his first responsibility is as a husband and a father. “I’ve had a good year, but it’s been a long year and my family hasn’t seen me very much. I promised my children over the summer that we would go to Disney World. I wasn’t going to break my promise to my children, especially when I had made plans for this storm and we were ready,” Christie concluded.
Good News For The New Year
Sean welcomed Fox Business contributor Stuart Varney to the final hour of the program to discuss the state of the U.S. economy. “The economy is beginning to expand in a more robust fashion,” Varney explained. “You’re going to get three and a half, maybe four percent growth this calendar year.” However, Varney detailed several huge challenges that threaten to derail the recovering U.S. economy. “The financial situation of our states - most notably California, Illinois, New Jersey and New York. That’s a real huge problem that’s looming right in front of us. The other problem is that we’ve got to cut government spending,” Varney explained.
Stuart Varney is a conservative British-American economic journalist, currently working for the Fox News Channel and the Fox Business Network in the United States. Varney joined Fox News in January 2004 as a business contributor on many shows, such as Your World with Neil Cavuto. Varney will also occasionally serve as guest host for Your World and the shows on the Cost of Freedom business block.
