Boehner Elected…What’s Ahead?
Earlier this afternoon, John Boehner was elected speaker of the House in a vote that saw a significant portion of the Democratic caucus vote for someone other than outgoing Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Mr. Boehner received 241 votes, all Republicans, to capture the gavel. Mrs. Pelosi, meanwhile, received 173 votes, but watched as 19 Democrats from her caucus either opted for another candidate or merely voted "present." Sean was obviously excited for the change but offered some cautionary words to his listeners. “If the Republicans do what we sent them to do in Washington they are going to be demonized. There is going to be not only an unleashing from the Obama-mania Media but also from every Democrat in the United States Congress,” Sean warned. “You will see, as we move forward, unprecedented partisan attacks from both the media and those in Congress.”

Peaceful Transition Of Power
Indiana Congressman Mike Pence joined Sean in the show’s second hour and began the interview by thanking voters. “This is your day,” Pence said talking to Sean and his millions of listeners. “This is a day, thanks to the courage, the unshakable faith in America, the volunteer hours, the resources and the prayers, that we saw the peaceful transition of power from big government liberalism to a Congress that is intent on turning our national legislature back to the Constitution. All of this change is because of the American people…they deserve all of the credit.” Pence was very touched by Boehner’s comments at the opening of the 112th Congress. “I was very moved by Speaker John Boehner’s remarks. I think John understands that this day belongs to the American people and we are going to roll our sleeves up and get to work.”

Hannity’s Freshman Focus Group
The next two years will give Republicans the opportunity they’ve been waiting for – the chance to tackle major issues on the GOP agenda - from the repeal of Obama care to the reduction of government spending. But will the new members of Congress, who rode to power in large part because of the Tea Party movement, stay true to the principals that got them elected? Sean teamed up with Frank Luntz at the nation’s capital and convened a freshman focus group of newly elected GOP members of Congress. Watch what they had to say by clicking here.
