Hannity in DC
Sean spent this morning in Washington DC where he spent some time sitting down with House Speaker John Boehner to discuss the latest budget battles. There’s an interview tonight with Speaker Boehner tonight on Fox! “I spent some time in DC and while I was there, Paul Ryan was briefing freshmen Republicans on the budget,” explained Hannity, “They gave me a copy of the “ Tidal Wave of Debt” which outlines the current wave of debt we’re headed towards.” On Monday, Congressman Ryan told reporters that President Obama’s budget proposal was so bad that, “it would be better if we did nothing” rather than pass that budget. Speaker Boehner has been making headlines all week on this issue, even telling reporters that he’d be willing to see more layoffs. “Republicans will not punt and that all issues will be on the table,” explained Boehner, “Since President Obama has taken office, the government has added 200,00 new jobs so if some of those jobs are lost, so be it, we’re broke and it’s time we get serious about how we’re spending the nation’s money.” This is certainly refreshing news and the Speaker is right; you can’t buy what you can’t afford. Perhaps it’s Washington’s turn to realize what the average American has been living with for a few years now.

Cyrus Nowrasteh and Brigitte Gabriel
Sean was joined by Cyrus Nowrasteh, the mastermind behind the movie “ The Stoning of Soraya M” and ACT! Founder Brigitte Gabriel stopped by to discuss Sharia Law and what it means for society. “We’ve talked a lot about the treatment of women under Sharia Law,” noted Hannity, “What are we missing about the treatment of women.” Gabriel quickly offered her thoughts, “Egypt is a very radical Islamic country and what people don’t know is that 97% of women are genitally mutilated regardless of their level of education.” Sean brought up the recent attack on CBS News correspondent Lara Logan as proof that women are treated with violence and disrespect in Egypt. Nowrasteh offered his thoughts saying, “The attitudes in these countries are that women are third class citizens and because Lara was dressed in the western style, according to Sharia law she brought this attack on herself.” It’s hard to imagine any way you could look at some one “deserving” to be sexually assaulted as CBS reporter Lara Logan was.

Patrick J Buchanan: What Should The Republicans Do Next?
Sean was joined by Pat Buchanan to get his thoughts on the Republican’s budget tasks. “We have a real fiscal crisis in this country,” began Buchanan, “Contrast the behavior of someone like Chris Christie who will make the tough decisions and take the heat with the President’s ‘you guys go first’ strategy.” Buchanan continued, “Obama comes through with zero cuts and he wants the Republicans to go first with cuts and then the Senate rejects most of those cuts and then blames Republicans for wanting to throw Grandma out into the snow.” “I think the country understands the severity of what’s going on and I think they understand the danger of the record debts we’re accumulating,” a frustrated Hannity mentioned. The truth is, this is not a time for politics as usual and America knows it.
