What Happened To The Transparency?
Sean took the air on Wednesday upset over the White House’s apparent confusion over the course of events that lead to the killing of Osama bin Laden. The Obama administration has decided to release only tidbits of information related to the raid on the Osama compound. That's why for the past several days there have been conflicting reports over what kind of helicopters were used on the mission, where they landed, how many troops were involved and which of Osama’s sons was killed. Did Osama use a human shield? Did he engage our SEALs in a firefight? These questions, among others, may never be known. “We’re not gonna see any of this because of the most transparent administration in history is only going to allow the elites to know. We’ve had days of shifting information and they can’t seem to get their story straight. It all seems to be rooted in this hyper –sensitivity out there, and accommodation that if the U.S. appears nicer to the radical Islamic world, that somehow they’re not going to want to kill us anymore,” Sean said.
Karl Rove On Osama Photos
Sean invited “The Architect” Karl Rove to the second hour of the program to discuss Obama’s decision not to release photos of Osama bin Laden after being killed. “I think the real reason that Obama does not want to release the photos is that our military commanders have said to him that they do not want to do this because they feel it will create greater risk to our military. They feel it will unnecessarily inflame people against us. I don’t know for sure, but my suspicion is that is what is going on here,” said Rove. “But I am inclined to believe the military and if they object to this release then I’m going to side with them. However, the president should just shoot straight with us and he hasn’t,” Rove concluded.
Rumsfeld: Waterboarding Played Major Role in Al Qaeda Intel
After granting his first radio interview to Sean earlier in the day yesterday, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld joined ‘Hannity’ last night on the Fox News Channel to discuss the use of waterboarding as an interrogation technique. “I think that anyone who suggests that the enhanced techniques, let's be blunt, waterboarding, did not produce an enormous amount of valuable intelligence, just isn't facing the truth. The facts are, General Mike Hayden came in, he had no connection with waterboarding anybody. He looked at all the evidence and concluded that a major fraction of the intelligence in our country on al Qaeda came from individuals, the three, only three people who were waterboarded,” Rumsfeld said. The former secretary of defense was quick to clarify that no one was waterboarded at Guantanamo. “Three people were waterboarded by the CIA, away from Guantanamo and then later brought to Guantanamo. And in fact, as you point out Sean, the information that came from those individuals was critically important,” Rumsfeld concluded.
