We've Heard This Before

End Of A War? Sound Familiar?
Sean was out today on special assignment but was ably replaced by the great Mark Simone. Mark hit the ground running as he began the show criticizing President Obama’s announcement that we’re going to have troops leave Afghanistan by 2014. “The whole speech by the President was staged to create the illusion that we’re winding down the war in Afghanistan,” spotlighted Simone, “There is no way on earth to know the conditions on the ground a year from now.” It is amazing to see all of the ways that President Obama is trying to stage his 2012 re-election campaign. The truth is that the President is finding it hard to gain a foothold on his slipping popularity and, as reported here, his polls aren’t looking great for 2012.

Mark was joined by Ann Coulter, author of the best-selling book “Demonic” to discuss her new book. “It made the New York Times Best Seller list,” noted Simone, “I can imagine the person who had to type that up must’ve called someone at the top and said ‘we have a problem here.’” Coulter laughed, “This is the eighth time they’ve refused to review my book, I get it, they don’t like me.” Coulter continued, “I write my own books and I research my own books and I think they should review it in a serious way and not in the way I’d imagine they would review it.” Simone offered his thoughts saying, “Democrats are being very quiet about this book, they’re saying that you really touched a nerve.” Demonic is definitely worth a read. Michael Barone
Mark’s friend and author Michael Barone stopped by to share his thoughts on why the media is so liberal. “Do you remember when George Bush Sr. was running against Clinton, do you remember when Dan Rather would run a special feature every night called, “Our Troubled Economy” and once Clinton was elected that feature disappeared as if something had changed all of a sudden,” reminded Simone.” Something had changed,” laughed Barone, “The guy the media wanted elected was elected.” Barone continued, “This government has done a good job of penalizing somebody who’s doing something nasty like creating jobs.” That really is the bottom line issue. It’s one thing for President Obama to tell us the economy is getting better and it’s another to see it actually get better.
