Gov. Kasich Signs Sweeping Budget in Ohio
Today’s special radio guest hosts, Fred and Jeri Thompson, were joined by Gov. John Kasich to discuss his sweeping new budget he signed into law for the state of Ohio. The nearly $56 billion state budget contains broad policy changes for the state, after vetoing a provision that would have given the state first dibs on repurchasing state prisons sold to private developers. The 3,262-page bill privatizes five state prisons, overhauls Medicaid, eliminates Ohio's estate tax in 2013, bans most abortions in public hospitals, and ties teachers' pay more closely to student achievement. Fred Thompson praised Kasich for a job well done. “You signed into law a bill that many detractors said that you couldn’t get accomplished,” Thompson said. “"We promised Ohioans a new way and a new day, and we're delivering," said Kasich. McCotter Joins The Presidential Race
Fred and Jeri Thompson spoke with Rep. Thaddeus McCotter who earlier today filed papers to run for president in 2012. McCotter, a Republican, is known to be hawkish on foreign policy and sympathetic to labor unions. The 45-year-old Mr. McCotter, said he is unsatisfied with the current candidates' plans for tackling unemployment and competing with China. "They're fine people," he said of the GOP field. Obama Admin Finally Recognizes Muslim Brotherhood As Evil
Last night on ‘Hannity’, special guest host Monica Crowley discussed with Karl Rove the recent admission by the Obama administration that the Muslim Brotherhood poses a grave threat in Egypt. According to a senior Obama administration official, "The political landscape in Egypt has changed and is changing. It is in our interests to engage with all of the parties that are competing for parliament or the presidency." Monica wondered how the administration planned on engaging with a group that flies its flag under the motto, quote, "Allah is our objective, the profit is our leader, the Koran is our law, Jihad is our way, and dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope." Rove was puzzled by this admission by “The Anointed One.” “Why does the administration go out of its way months before the fall elections, to in essence give legitimacy and credibility to the Muslim Brotherhood by announcing formal contacts?
