What's next for Libya?

What Comes Next For Libya?
News broke over the weekend that rebels were close to overthrowing the Gaddafi-led government. Gaddafi whereabouts are a mystery now and his sons have apparently been captured. But the big question, Sean was curious as to what Obama’s plans for Libya are in the short and long term. “We never got an economic plan in writing to look at from “The Anointed One,” so will we get a plan for Libya?” Sean asked sarcastically. “The administration stumbled into this war with no clear military plan. The president led a short-sighted effort and was criticized for it. Now that the people of Libya are toppling Gaddafi’s regime, what comes next? What is the president’s plan? What’s the strategy for a post-Gaddafi Libya?” Sean asked. You can listen to Sean’s entire opening monologue by clicking here.

Dick Morris: Palin Shouldn’t Run
Sean was joined by Dick Morris in the show’s second hour and didn’t mince any words when he told Sean he felt Palin should not run for president. “Not only would she not win the nomination, I don’t think she would win Republican woman’s primary – I think Bachmann would beat her in that, and I think it would hurt her standing in the conservative community which I think now is pretty good,” said Morris. It’s also way too early to pick a candidate who might win the nomination Morris advised. “It’s even way too early to whittle this down to three candidates. I think Santorum and Cain could come on. And Newt Gingrich is like a fighter who is losing on points but could score a knock out in any round because he’s such a great debater.” You can listen to Sean’s entire radio interview with Dick Morris by clicking here.

The Race To Succeed Weiner
Bob Turner, the Republican candidate running to replace Anthony Weiner’s Congressional seat, joined Sean on the NewsMaker Hotline. Weiner held the 9th Congressional District seat for 12 years until he resigned in June after admitting to sexual misconduct. Weiner’s empty seat was supposed to be a slam-dunk to fill for Democrats – but guess what? It’s a race. “I think there’s good chance I can win this race. We’ve got them pretty nervous,” an upbeat Turner told Sean. Turner said that he suspects there is “a great deal of discontent in the district.” A conservative and former business man, Turner views himself as “an outraged citizen” who can make a difference. In fact, former Mayor Ed Koch has officially endorsed Turner, snubbing a member of his own party. Koch, a Democrat, said he would endorse Turner over Democratic Assemblyman David Weprin.
