The New Leviathan
Sean was joined by David Horowitz, the author of the new book, “The New Leviathan: How the Left-Wing Money-Machine Shapes American Politics” and he talks about the deep impact of his writing. “It’s not the right that has the money,” began Horowitz, “There are 115 left-wing foundations with $104 billion in assets which is ten times the total of the conservative foundations.” To put it another way, Horowitz explained, “The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation alone has three times the assets of all 75 conservative foundations.” Horowitz continued, “This is not counting the government unions who have contributed $400 million in the last presidential election, and that’s not including the volunteers they’ve provided.” “What you say this is about is a billion dollar tax-exempt network,” summed Hannity, “What you’re saying is they work in concert with unions and you’re saying that they’re all deeply connected to the Obama White House.” Conservatives have always been known as the ones with the most money to contribute but, as Horowitz pointed out that may very well not be the case. Ban God Bless
USA Coney Island Principal Greta Hawkins made headlines when she banned the song “God Bless the USA” saying the lyrics were “two grown-up for students.” Sean was joined by Jennifer Stefano, Zerlina Maxwell and Bob Beckel to discuss this. “This song has been associated with the republican party,” argued Beckel, “For better or worse this is not a good idea for being in a school.” “I would like to know when the liberal left-wing agenda came about murdering common sense,” laughed Stefano, “This song is in no way associated with republicans and it’s a modern patriotic song about how great this country is.” “I’m a liberal,” countered Zerlina, “I don’t think what she did was right but I do think that using the word God when there are children of other religions and backgrounds; you have to be aware of that.” “The only person who had an agenda here appears to have been the principle,” countered Hannity, “Our Declaration talks about a God, did they write it wrong?” An interesting debate, no doubt, and one that will continue for some time, unfortunately. Senator George Allen
Former Senator George Allen is running for election in Virginia’s special election slated for tomorrow. Senator Allen joined Sean to discuss his campaign. “Some were looking at you as someone who might run for president,” began Hannity, “Is this a key battleground for 2012, it’s in my top 5.” “It sure is,” offered Allen, “I’m running against Tim Kaine who’s a hand-picked candidate of President Obama.” Last Tuesday America sent a message by failing to recall Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker. Now, in President Obama's own backyard, another message could be sent that responsible candidates need to become America's responsible leaders.
