Blaming our troops

Blaming Our Troops
Over the weekend Sean watched the anti-Islam film trailer that may have contributed to the recent violence and anti-American protests in the Middle East. The trailer was clunky and showed scenes from a desert and in tents. The characters were cartoonish and the limited dialogue was awful. "I pulled the trailer up on my iPad and I watched it. First of all, the trailer came out in July, that's issue number one," said Sean. "Secondly, it is the single worst trailer...it's not even a movie! The quality of this is so poor that if a college film student produced this they would have gotten an 'F'. This trailer is just not what they said it is," Sean continued. Additionally, Sean mentioned a column by Paul Sperry in yesterday's NYPost in which U.S. troops now must undergo sensitivity training. "Afghan security forces, our supposed allies, are slaughtering American troops. Thirty-three soldiers have been killed by "green on blue" attacks this year alone. The situation is so bad that the training of Afghan forces has been temporarily suspended," writes Sperry. "How has the Pentagon responded? By blaming our troops. Top officials believe culturally offensive behavior is the motivation behind the killings, so it's stepped up Islamic sensitivity training for our troops." Optimistic About America’s Future? Don't Be.
Sean welcomed Mark Steyn, author of "After America: Get Ready for Armageddon" joined Sean in the second hour of Monday's show to discuss his new book. In his New York Times bestseller, "America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It," Steyn predicted collapse for the rest of the Western World. Now, he explained to Sean, America has caught up with Europe on the great rush to self-destruction. It's not just our looming financial collapse; it's not just a culture that seems on a fast track to perdition, full of hapless, indulgent, childish people who think government has the answer for every problem; it's not just America's potential eclipse as a world power because of the drunken sailor policy-making in Washington - no, it's all this and more that spells one word for America: Armageddon. One Year Anniversary Of "Occupy" Movement
The opening bell rang on Wall Street early this morning, amidst controlled chaos on downtown streets as protesters clogged foot traffic and renewed their calls for populist economic reform. At least 124 Occupy Wall Street protesters were arrested during marches and scuffles near the New York Stock Exchange this morning and afternoon, on the movement's one-year anniversary according to the NYPost.com. Earlier this afternoon Sean tweeted a video his radio producer Lauren put together of Occupy protesters at the Tampa Republican Convention. You can watch the hilarious video here.
