MILESTONE: ONE MILLION New Jobs in Trump's First Six Months

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.08.17

The United States has added more than one million jobs since President Donald Trump took office back in January; smashing expectations and pushing consumer confidence and unemployment to levels not seen in 16 years.

The US economy was on fire in July, creating more than 209,000 jobs and smashing analysts’ expectations. The unemployment rate fell to just 4.3%, the lowest level seen since the early 2000s.

During the ‘Great Recession’ of 2009, the unemployment rate peaked at roughly 10%.

“The economy is looking pretty good,” said a senior economist at ZipRecruiter, one of the nation’s leading job recruitment websites.

“Kind of an all-around strong headline number,” said Tony Bedikian, head of global markets at Citizens Bank. “More people are coming into the labor force and finding jobs. It’s difficult to find anything really negative in the report.”

Even CNN, the cable news outlet branded by President Trump as “fake news,” applauded the President’s strong economic numbers, saying this was a significant “Milestone for Trump.”

Of course, the news network couldn’t let the President take all the credit.

“The United States has added 1.07 million jobs during Trump’s six months in office […] He isn’t entirely responsible for the job market. A slew of factors throughout the economy affect hiring decisions,” said CNN.
