FLASHBACK: Nancy Pelosi Laughs-Off North Korea Nuclear Threat

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.09.17

Nancy Pelosi is now taking the threat of a North Korean attack on the United States seriously, just a month after laughing-off Kim Jong Un’s weapons program after his first test launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile.

Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi harshly criticized President Trump’s stern warning to North Korea on Wednesday, calling the Commander-in-Chief’s comments “recklessly belligerent” and “impulsive,” conveniently forgetting her giggle-fit just weeks ago.

During her weekly press conference in early July, Pelosi was asked to comment on North Korea’s first successful test launch of a long-range ICMB; a rocket capable of striking her hometown of San Francisco, California.

The former Speaker of the House laughed uncontrollably, barely answering the question and mentioning that she was one of the few members of Congress who had actually visited the North Korean capital of Pyongyang.

“Well let me just say that I’m one of few members of congress who’s been to Pyongyang, to the capital. Many members have been to [the border] but I’ve been to the capital,” she added.

Nancy Pelosi is now taking the threat towards the United States more seriously, releasing a public statement on Wednesday that attacked President Trump -not Kim Jong Un- for the escalating crisis.

“The president’s most recent comments are recklessly belligerent and demonstrate a grave lack of appreciation for the severity of the North Korean nuclear situation,” said her statement. “His saber-rattling and provocative, impulsive rhetoric erode our credibility and weaken our ability to reach a peaceful resolution to this crisis, and must immediately end.”
