WATCH: President Trump Donates $1 Million to Hurricane Relief Fund

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.10.17

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced Thursday that President Trump will donate one million dollars of his personal money to help those suffering in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

Huckabee Sanders made the announcement during a White House press briefing, saying the President will make the donation to help residents of the Gulf Coast following last weekend’s deadly hurricane.

“There’s obviously been a huge outpouring of support from people all around the country,” said one reporter. “We’ve seen people lining up to volunteer, we’ve seen people donating tens of millions of dollars. Can you speak to what the President and his family have done regarding donations for Harvey relief personally?”

“Yes, I can. I had a chance to speak directly with the President earlier, and I’m happy to tell you that he would like to join in the efforts that a lot of the people we’ve seen across this country do, and he’s pledging a million dollars of personal money to the fund,” said Sanders.

“He’s actually asked that I check with the folks in this room, since you are very good at research and have been doing a lot of reporting into the groups and organizations that are best and most effective in helping and providing aid and he’d love some suggestions from the folks here,” she added.

“As I said, he’ll pledge a million dollars of his own personal money to help the people of Texas and Louisiana,” said the Press Secretary.
