ON THE BRINK: UK Drafts Plan to Join US if War Erupts on Korean Peninsula

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.01.17

The United Kingdom is drafting military plans to support the United States and regional allies should war erupt on the Korean peninsula; preparing to deploy a brand-new state-of-the-art aircraft carrier to the region as tensions remain at a breaking-point.

According to the Daily Mail, senior British military officials confirm the government is rapidly planning a military response if armed-conflict breaks out between the United States and North Korea. Inside sources say the UK would likely deploy its new aircraft carrier –yet to be used in combat- off the coast of Korea.

The likely scenario would see the HMS Queen Elizabeth and its 12 fighter jets sent to join US warships already in the region. The royal warship is not scheduled to be deployed until 2020, but will be “technically commissioned” in the coming months.

“We have plenty of ships to send […] the Type-45 destroyers, the Type-23 frigates. Britain’s new aircraft carrier could be pressed into service early if things turn south,” said a source familiar with the military preparations.

President Trump made headlines earlier Monday when he announced that the US has been “unsuccessfully dealing with North Korea for 25 years,” adding that the time for diplomacy was nearing its end.

“Our country has been unsuccessfully dealing with North Korea for 25 years, giving billions of dollars & getting nothing. Policy didn’t work!” the President posted on twitter.
