VEGAS MYSTERY: Gunman Shot Hotel Guard Six Minutes BEFORE His Rampage

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.02.17

Police and federal investigators officially changed the timeline of events that led up to last weekend’s deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas, telling reporters on Monday that the gunman shot a hotel security guard a full six minutes before opening fire on a country music festival.

According to the Los Angeles Times, authorities had previously claimed that Stephen Paddock, the 64-year old former accountant behind the rampage, was interrupted –and ultimately stopped- after Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos approached his hotel room.

Police now say Campos was shot minutes before the deadliest mass shooting in American history.

The new timeline raises serious questions over why it took law enforcement so long to locate Paddock’s position, and why the gunman decided to stop his assault on the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival that left 59 people dead and hundreds injured.

Investigators now claim the gunman opened fire on the guard as he approached Paddock’s 32nd floor hotel suite, shooting at least 200 rounds into the hallway. It remains unclear if Campos intentionally approached the room.

“Mr. Campos was encountered by the suspect prior to his shooting to the outside world,” said Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo.

The revised timeline sheds little light into the motives behind Paddock’s devastating attack. Federal investigators are struggling to determine why the 64-year-old opened fire on the packed crowd, and why he decided to stop his deadly rampage.
