House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy didn’t mince words when discussing Hillary Clinton’s ties to the debunked Russian-Trump dossier, saying the former nominee and the DNC committed “money laundering” when they funneled $10 million to Fusion GPS.
Gowdy was speaking with Fox News on Tuesday when he called-out Clinton for her role behind the infamous report, saying the DNC can’t be allowed to “launder all their money by just hiring a law firm.”
“As I understand it, willful misrepresentation of campaign expenditures is a criminal offense,” said Fox’s Chris Wallace.
“I’m not an election law expert, but the good news is you don’t have to be to understand the absurdity of believing that you can launder all of your campaign money by just hiring a law firm,” said Gowdy.
“I can’t think of anything that defeats the purpose of transparency laws more than that,” he added. “No one can remember who paid $10 million to law firm to do opposition research. I find that stunning, $10 million and no one can remember who authorized it or who approved it.”
