A shocking new poll published by CNN on Tuesday shows the Democratic Party having the lowest favorability ratings in more than 25 years; raising alarm bells among liberal lawmakers as they limp towards the 2018 midterm election.
According to the survey, only 37% of Americans have a positive view of the Democratic Party, plummeting nearly 10% since March of this year.
A solid majority of Americans, approximately 54%, have an “unfavorable view” of the party.
The poll shows a stunning shift of opinion amongst groups that constitute the “core” of the party’s base, including non-Caucasians and voters under 35-years of age.
The new statistics come as liberal legislators turn their sights to the 2018 midterm elections. Many Democrats have called for a shift in leadership following a string of special election defeats earlier this year; openly urging House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to step down from her position.
The Party is currently facing a host of scandals that further erode public opinion, including: Hillary Clinton’s campaign financing the ‘Trump Dossier,’ her secret takeover of the DNC, the Uranium One deal, and others.
