OUCH: Bernie BLASTS DEMS, Says Party Needs 'Fundamental Changes'

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.04.17

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders unloaded on the Democratic National Committee on Monday, saying the party needs to become “more transparent” and needs to make “fundamental changes” before it looks to the 2018 midterm elections and beyond.

The socialist Senator was speaking with CBS News’ ‘Face the Nation’ when he was asked to weigh-in on former DNC chief Donna Brazile’s incendiary revelation that Hillary Clinton had “secretly taken over” the Democratic Party nearly a year before securing the nomination.

“Well, it may irritate them, but it does not irritate the American people,” Sanders said. “Look, one of the problems facing the Democratic Party is that it has got to open up its doors.”

“In my view, the Democratic Party needs to make fundamental changes. We need to do away with the extraordinary number of super delegates that now exist in the presidential nominating process. [They have] got to do away with closed primaries, got to reform the caucus system to allow everybody to vote, and you need more transparency at the DNC,” he added.

Sanders comments come a week after Donna Brazile’s bombshell exposé provided new details on how the Clinton campaign colluded with the Democratic National Committee to steal the 2016 primary from Bernie Sanders.
