MOORE TROUBLE: Judge Roy Moore Trails Democrat by 12% in New Poll

posted by Hannity Staff - 10.05.17

Embattled GOP Senate nominee Roy Moore currently trails his Democratic opponent by 12% in a new poll conducted in the aftermath of the Alabama judge’s allegations of sexual misconduct with teenaged girls.

The survey, conducted by the National Republican Senatorial Committee, shows Democrat Doug Jones pulling ahead of Moore 51% to 39%.

The numbers provide new ammunition to those urging the Alabama politician to exit the race after more women step forward accusing the judge of “inappropriate” relationships.

“The poll shows a dramatic turn against Moore in Alabama: In early October, a committee poll had him leading by 16 points, and a survey early this month had him up by 9 points. Moore’s favorability numbers also tanked, from 49 percent in early October to 35 percent in the NRSC’s latest poll,” writes Politico.

The survey comes as top Republicans –including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell- openly call for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to run as a write-in candidate to fill the same seat he left vacant to join the Trump administration.
