ANTI-SOCIAL MEDIA: Google Employees Discussed Measures to ‘COUNTER’ Trump’s ‘Travel Ban’

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.21.18

In the immediate aftermath of President Trump’s initial executive order instituting a so-called ‘Travel Ban’ for specific nations, Google employees discussed several measures that could be deployed to counter the administration’s new immigration proposals.

According to the Wall Street Journal, key staffers “discussed ways” in which they could “tweak” the technology giant’s search results to funnel users towards pro-immigration organizations, lawmakers, and other departments.

“Days after the Trump administration instituted a controversial travel ban in January 2017, Google employees discussed ways they might be able to tweak the company’s search-related functions to show users how to contribute to pro-immigration organizations and contact lawmakers and government agencies, according to internal company emails,” writes the WSJ.

“The email traffic, reviewed by The Wall Street Journal, shows that employees proposed ways to ‘leverage’ search functions and take steps to counter what they considered to be ‘Islamophobic,’” adds the article.

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.11.18

Newly released emails exchanged between Google employees reveal how senior staffers reacted to President Trump’s victory in 2016, with top-level employees saying they were “surprised” by his popularity among Hispanic and Latino voters.

According to Fox News, the emails were written by Google’s head of multicultural marketing and reveal the tech giant’s efforts to turnout the vote ahead of the 2016 general election.

“We worked very hard. Many people did. We pushed to get out the Latino vote with our features, our partners, and our voices. We kept our Googley efforts non-partisan and followed our company’s protocols for the elections strategy,” states the email.

“Ultimately, after all was said and one [sic], the Latino community did come out to vote, and completely surprised us. We never anticipated that 29% of Latinos would vote for Trump. No one did,” the executive wrote.

GOOGLE GLITCH: Search Engine Labels Republicans as ‘NAZIS’ in Results

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.31.18

Technology giant Google came under fire Thursday after the search engine listed “Nazism” as the official ideology of the California Republican Party, sparking outrage from GOP supporters across the country.

According to Vice News, the term “Nazism” was used to describe the party’s ideology in the search engine’s “knowledge panel,” which shows quick information on a subject the user may be interested in.

Google has since removed the party’s “ideology” panel from the search engine.

“It is disgraceful that the world’s largest search engine has labeled millions of California Republicans as Nazis,” said GOP congressman Kevin McCarthy.

“This is just the latest incident in a disturbing trend to slander conservatives. These damaging actions must be held to account. The bias has to stop,” he added.
