Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders escalated his all-out war with Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos Monday; releasing a scathing video from an undercover journalist that referred to the giant online retailer as a “cult” using “Orwellian language.”
Sanders tweeted the video this week just days after unveiling his ‘Stop BEZOS Act’ that seeks to impose a 100% tax on federal benefits received by full-time employees receiving government assistance.

AMAZON STRIKES BACK: Bezos Accuses Bernie of ‘MISLEADING’ Americans on Work Conditions
Online retail giant Amazon fired-back at Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders this week; making a are political statement that accused the Democratic Socialist of “misleading” the American people with “inaccurate” information.
Amazon posted the scathing statement on social media after Sanders slammed CEO Jeff Bezos for difficult working conditions and low-wages at distribution centers across the country; claiming employees were sleeping in cars and receiving government assistance.
“Senator Sanders continues to make inaccurate and misleading accusations against Amazon,” said a post on Amazon’s website. “We have been in regular contact with his office and have offered several opportunities for Senator Sanders and his team to tour one of our fulfillment centers (FCs). To date he has still not seen an FC for himself.”
“Instead, Senator Sanders continues to spread misleading statements about pay and benefits. Amazon is proud to have created over 130,000 new jobs last year alone. In the U.S., the average hourly wage for a full-time associate in our fulfillment centers, including cash, stock, and incentive bonuses, is over $15/hour before overtime,” adds the statement.

BERNIE VS BEZOS: Sen. Sanders ROASTS AMAZON Over ‘DEMANDING’ Working Conditions
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders unloaded on Amazon owner Jeff Bezos Tuesday, releasing a scathing statement that slammed the corporation’s “demanding working conditions” and asked employees to share their stories on his website.
Sanders -who just this week blasted Disneyland for refusing to raise their minimum wage- blind-sided Bezos on social media, posting “Amazon is one of the wealthiest corporations in the world, and its owner, Jeff Bezos, is the richest man on the planet, worth over $155 billion.”
“Despite this, Bezos continues to pay many thousands of his Amazon employees wages that are so low that they are forced to depend on taxpayer-funded programs such as food stamps, Medicaid and subsidized housing to survive,” added the statement.
