Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders escalated his all-out war with America’s largest corporations this week; unveiling his plan to tax Amazon, Walmart, and other companies 100% of the total amount of federal benefits received by their workers.
Sanders slammed Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos in a series of public statements over Amazon’s working conditions and low-pay; saying many of its employees received government assistance and food stamps despite working full-time.
Bottom line: No one working for the wealthiest person on Earth should have to rely on food stamps. No one working for a man who earns $260 million a day should be forced to sleep in their car. Yet that is what's happening at Amazon.

“On September 5 we are going to introduce legislation to end the absurdity of middle class taxpayers having to subsidize large, profitable corporations, many of which are owned by billionaires. If Amazon, Walmart and other corporations won’t pay their workers a living wage, our bill would establish a 100 percent tax equal to the amount of federal benefits received by their low-wage workers. The American taxpayer should not be subsidizing the richest people in history so they can underpay their employees,” said a statement from Sanders’ office.

BERNIE BREAKS WITH DEMS: Sanders Says Trump-Kim Summit a ‘POSITIVE STEP’
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders publicly praised President Trump’s Singapore summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un Tuesday, saying the meeting was a “positive step” towards “de-escalating” tensions in the region.
The socialist Senator broke with Democrats after Pelosi slammed Trump’s high-stakes summit as “hasty,” adding Trump’s negotiation will help minimize the risk of nuclear war across the globe.
“While very light on substance, Trump and Kim Jong Un’s meeting is a positive step in de-escalating tensions and addressing the threat of North Korea’s nuclear weapons. Congress has a key role to play in making sure this is a meaningful process, not just a series of photo ops,” tweeted Sanders.

The Senator’s comments come on the heels of Trump’s announcement that the US will halt all future war games with the South Korean military; saying the drills are too costly and too “provocative” at this sensitive time.
BERNIE GOES OFF: Sanders Thanks DC Liberals for Advancing ‘EXTREMIST IDEAS’
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders raised eyebrows throughout the nation’s capital Wednesday, thanking DC liberals for transforming “radical” and “extremist ideas” into “mainstream American ideas.”
Sanders was speaking at the ‘We the People’ summit in Washington, DC when he praised those in attendance for helping to advance his liberal message, saying his supporters have brought those “fringe ideas” to the masses.
“Many of the ideas that we talked about were thought to be fringe ideas, radical ideas, extremist ideas,” said the Vermont Senator. “Well, you know what? Because of your efforts, those ideas are mainstream American ideas.”
“I want to thank all of the groups here, because whether you know it or not, you have helped transform this country in so many ways,” he added.
