Former Vice President Joe Biden announced his third-run for the White House Thursday; ending months of speculation over whether the top Obama official would make another bid for the Oval Office.
“In that moment, I knew the threat to this nation was unlike any I’d seen in my lifetime,” Biden said, adding “history will look back on four years of this president and all he embraces as an aberrant moment in time.”
The core values of this nation… our standing in the world… our very democracy…everything that has made America — America –is at stake. That’s why today I’m announcing my candidacy for President of the United States. #Joe2020 https://t.co/jzaQbyTEz3

“But if we give Donald Trump eight years in the White House, he will forever and fundamentally alter the character of this nation,” Biden added. “Who we are. And I cannot stand by and watch that happen.”
BIDEN REBUKED: AOC Says Biden Presidency Would be ‘Going Back,’ Vows ‘To Go Forward’
Democratic superstar Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez refused to back former Vice President Joe Biden’s potential presidential run over the weekend; saying the top Obama aide’s win would be “going back” while she hopes to “move forward.”
Ocasio-Cortez was speaking with Yahoo News podcast ‘Skullduggery’ Sunday when she was asked to comment on Biden’s long-rumored White House bid.
That does not particularly animate right now,” said the Congresswoman.
“I can understand why people would be excited by that, this idea that we can go back to the good old days with Obama, with Obama’s vice president. There’s an emotional element to that, but I don’t want to go back. I want to go forward,” she added.
Recent Democrat polling shows Biden slowly losing momentum among supporters, with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders taking the top spot in the latest surveys.

BIDEN RISING: Joe Biden Opens Up ‘DOUBLE DIGIT’ Lead in Latest Democratic Poll
Former Vice President Joe Biden is making major gains against his potential Democratic opponents in recent polling; opening up a “double digit” lead against Sen. Bernie Sanders, Beto O’Rourke, Kamala Harris, and others.
“Former Vice President Joe Biden holds a double-digit lead over the rest of the 2020 Democratic field in a new poll released Thursday,” reports The Hill.
The latest Quinnipiac University survey shows Biden leading his potential opponents with 29% of registered Democrats favoring the former Vice President.
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is in distant second place with 19% followed by Beto O’Rourke at 12% and Sen. Kamala Harris at 8%.
“Hungry for a candidate to take on President Donald Trump, Democrats and Democratic leaners put the three B’s, Biden, Bernie and Beto, at the top in a race where age, race and gender take a back seat to electability and shared views,” adds the survey.
