Once one of the most sought-after closers in modern political history, Democratic candidates across the country have reportedly stopped asking Bill Clinton to stump in key races going into 2018 and 2020.
In a story published by the New York Times titled, “No One Wants to Campaign With Bill Clinton Anymore,” the former President found himself isolated through much of the midterm election cycle.
“As Democrats search for their identity in the Trump era, one aspect has become strikingly clear: Mr. Clinton is not part of it. Just days before the midterm elections, Mr. Clinton finds himself in a kind of political purgatory, unable to overcome past personal and policy choices now considered anathema within the rising liberal wing of his party,” writes the Times.
This election cycle, Clinton “has only appeared at a handful of private fund-raisers to benefit midterm candidates, according to people close to him.”

CLINTON CASH: Hillary Gives MAX DONATIONS to 19 Democrats Ahead of Midterms
Hillary Clinton officially entered the 2018 midterm elections this week, giving the maximum legal donations to at least 19 Democratic candidates just months before voters head to the polls.
According to ABC News, Clinton donated the highest permitted amount -$5,000 – to 19 challengers as the DNC hopes to retake control of Congress this fall. The FEC filings show she made the contributions through her Onward Together organization.
At least 11 of her liberal candidates are hoping to “flip” red districts currently held by GOP lawmakers
The districts are located in California, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, Texas, Nevada, Virginia, Colorado, New Mexico, Georgia, and West Virginia.
The former Secretary of State has been largely missing from the campaign trail heading into the midterms as many candidates struggle to distance themselves from the twice-failed presidential candidate.

CLINTON CHAOS: Ellison DODGES on Hillary's Role in 2018 MIDTERMS
Democratic National Committee Deputy Director Keith Ellison refused to answer questions surrounding Hillary Clinton’s role in the 2018 midterm elections Monday; deflecting the issue and saying the liberal message is more than “one person’s comments.”
“Republicans think Hillary Clinton is going to be a weapon for them because of those comments she made a few weeks ago about Trump areas in the country being backward-looking,” said MSNBC’s Steve Kornacki.
“The road to a House majority goes through some places that Donald Trump won. Those comments from Hillary Clinton, are they going to hurt you at all?” he asked.
“We’re going to focus on working-class, kitchen-table issues,” deflected Ellison. “People want to talk about pensions, wages, people want to know if they get a job will they get a livable wage?”
“I take the point, but the Republicans are saying your message is going to be undercut because of [Hillary’s comments.] Is that going to hurt you? Do you want her out there campaigning for Democrats?” he pressed.
“I don’t think one comment that one person makes is the issue. People want to know: What are you doing for us?” said Ellison.
