‘Empire’ actor Jussie Smollett was indicted Friday evening by a Chicago Grand Jury on 16 felony counts for allegedly staging a hate-crime hoax and intentionally lying to police about the nature of the crime.
Smollett was charged last month for intentionally filing a false police report regarding the alleged assault.

“The actor, 36, who is black and gay, also said his attackers poured what he believed was bleach over him and put a noose around his neck,” reports NBC News.
Smollett and his legal team have so-far denied all allegations against the actor.
