BREAKING: McConnell to Call for Full Vote on 'Criminal Justice Reform' This Month

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.11.18

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell confirmed Tuesday that he will call for a full vote on a highly-anticipated criminal reform justice bill as early as next week; saying he plans to introduce the legislation “at the request of the president.”

“At the request of the president and following improvements to the legislation that has been secured by several members, the Senate will take up the revised Criminal Justice Bill this month,” said McConnell.

The legislation enjoys bipartisan support from both Republicans and Democrats and the full endorsement of President Trump, who met with activists and local leaders in recent months surrounding criminal justice and prison reforms.

The new bill seeks to lower the number of Americans in prison, particularly those with non-violent crimes and first-time offenses.

“We have the votes, we’re very confident,” said a spokesperson for Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley.

BOOKER GOES OFF: Cory Warns of ‘CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS’ Over Trump’s Court Pick

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.10.18

Democrat Senator Cory Booker unloaded on President Trump’s nominee to join the Supreme Court late Monday evening; saying Judge Brett Kavanaugh would likely be the Commander-in-Chief’s ‘get out of jail free card’ should he be confirmed.

Booker was speaking with reporters on the steps of the Supreme Court when he was asked to comment on Trump’s pick; saying the potential justice could spark a “constitutional crisis.”

“First of all, you need to understand that this was the only pick among the entire list that explicitly said the President shouldn’t be the subject of a criminal investigation,” said Booker.

“The President is saying I have a chance to now make sure the Supreme Court gets me a ‘Get out of jail free card,’” he added. “We in the Senate are concerned about avoiding a constitutional crisis.”

BREAKING: GOP Senators DEMAND CRIMINAL Investigation into Trump Dossier

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.05.18

Two senior Republican Senators are publicly calling for a criminal investigation into the author behind the infamous Trump Dossier; demanding the Department of Justice launch a probe of former British spy Christopher Steele.

According to the Hill, Senators Chuck Grassley and Lindsey Graham sent a scathing letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray, urging the DOJ to open a criminal investigation of Steele and his role behind the creation of the debunked dossier.

“I don’t take lightly making a referral for criminal investigation. But, as I would with any credible evidence of a crime unearthed in the course of our investigations, I feel obliged to pass that information along to the Justice Department for appropriate review,” said Grassley.

“After reviewing how Mr. Steele conducted himself in distributing information contained in the dossier and how many stop signs the DOJ ignored in its use of the dossier, I believe that a special counsel needs to review this matter,” added Graham.

The shady opposition firm Fusion GPS –who hired Steele to create the document- continues to refuse to cooperate with federal investigators.

Congressional leaders are struggling to determine with the phony dossier was used as a pretense by Obama officials to surveil members of the Trump campaign ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
