BREAKING: Supreme Court Sides with BAKER Who Refused to Make Same-Sex Wedding Cake

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.04.18

The United States Supreme Court released a highly-anticipated decision Monday morning, siding with a Colorado baker who refused to make a same-sex wedding cake.

In a surprise 7-2 decision, the court discounted an earlier ruling against the baker in a Colorado court, but refused to go so far as to decide the broader issue of whether American businesses have the basic right to refuse service to same-sex couples over religious beliefs.

“The Commission’s hostility was inconsistent with the First Amendment’s guarantee that our laws be applied in a manner that is neutral toward religion,” wrote Justice Kennedy.

The decision went on to say the “broader issue must await further elaboration.”

“The reason and motive for the baker’s refusal were based on his sincere religious beliefs and convictions. The Court’s precedents make clear that the baker, in his capacity as the owner of a business serving the public, might have his right to the free exercise of religion limited by generally applicable laws,” Kennedy wrote. “Still, the delicate question of when the free exercise of his religion must yield to an otherwise valid exercise of state power needed to be determined in an adjudication in which religious hostility on the part of the State itself would not be a factor in the balance the State sought to reach.”

SUPREME COURT SHOWDOWN: Devin Nunes MAY INVITE Justice Roberts to TESTIFY on FISA MEMO

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.08.18

House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes is considering the possibility of inviting Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts to speak to his committee regarding systemic FISA abuse; setting the stage for a historic discussion following recent reports of widespread, anti-Trump corruption throughout the Department of Justice.

Nunes was speaking with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt Thursday when he made the landmark announcement, saying he wished to speak with Roberts -who is responsible for appointing all FISA court judges- regarding his recently released memo.

“Now the chief justice appoints the FISA judges,” said Hewitt. “Have you had a chance to chat with him or any of the FISA judges about what went on at the FISA court?”

“This is something that we’ve been grappling with all through this investigation,” Nunes fired-back. “We decided that we wanted to complete the FISA abuse portion before we approached the courts. Our next step with the courts is to make them aware, if they’re not aware already, so we will be sending a letter to the court.”

BREAKING: US Supreme Court Drops Hearings on Trump Travel Ban

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.23.17

DEVELOPING STORY

The United States Supreme Court dropped scheduled hearings over President Trump’s signature travel ban on Monday, clearing the case from its official schedule until further notice.

The Supreme Court asked all parties involved in the arguments to file additional material and briefs relating to the President’s travel restrictions; saying Trump’s newly revised federal guidelines render the previous cases against his executive order “moot.”

The Trump administration released new guidelines on Sunday after the conclusion of the 90-day initial order; renewing the travel ban for all previously barred nations except Sudan, and adding Venezuela, North Korea, and Chad to the list of restricted nationalities.

Trump’s new policies strike at the heart of liberal criticism of the bill that claimed the order was a “de facto Muslim ban,” as both North Korea outlaws all religion and Venezuela is a predominately Christian nation.
