BROWARD COWARD: New Video Shows DEPUTY WAITING Outside as MASSACRE Unfolds

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.15.18

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office released shocking new footage Thursday, showing an armed deputy standing idly outside the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School as a massacre unfolded inside the building.

The Department released the 27-minute clip that shows the immediate chaos and aftermath after 19-year old Nikolas Cruz opened fire at the Parkland, Florida high school; killing seventeen.

The surveillance footage shows Deputy Scot Peterson waiting outside the building, refusing to enter despite multiple gunshots and shattered windows as students screamed for help.

Peterson initially claimed he believed the shooter to be located outside the school, somewhere near the football field, but recently released dispatch audio shows he warned fellow officers to “stay away” from two specific buildings where Cruz conducted his rampage.

“Do not approach the 12 or 1300 building, stay at least 500 feet away,” Peterson was heard saying over the radio.

BROWARD BOMBSHELL: Deputy TOLD POLICE to 'STAY AWAY' from High School During Shooting

The disgraced Sheriff’s Deputy who maintained a “defensive position” and refused to enter the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School during last month’s mass shooting reportedly told fellow officers to “stay away” from the building; instructing them to remain at least 500 feet back as people lay dying.

According to the Miami Herald, Deputy Scot Peterson told the Broward County Sheriff’s Department, “Do not approach the 12 or 1300 building, stay at least 500 feet away.” Newly released audiotape of police scanners confirm Peterson’s comments; with screams heard in the background as the shooting unfolded.

The records confirm Peterson was well aware that the incident was occurring inside the building; directly refuting his claims he believed the gunman was last seen near the football field.

“It certainly backs up that he never went into the school,” said the president of the Broward County Sheriff’s police union. “At one point he says to keep back 500 feet. Why would he say that?”

Peterson became the center of a media firestorm after reports emerged he refused to enter the building as the carnage unfolded; allowing 19-year old Nikolas Cruz to kill 17 people and injure dozens more without confrontation.

BROWARD DEPUTY SPEAKS: Says ‘I am NO Coward,’ DEFENDS Shooting Response

The Broward County Sheriff Deputy who maintained a “defensive position” and refused to enter a south Florida high school during a shooting spoke publicly Monday, saying he is “no coward” and responded to the incident according to his training.

Deputy Scot Peterson -harshly criticized for failing to enter the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School during the massacre- released his first statement on the incident this week, saying he “heard gunshots” and believed the shooter “was outside.”

According to the Herald Sun, Peterson “heard gunshots but believed those gunshots were originating from outside of the buildings on the school campus.”

“BSO trains its officers that in the event of outdoor gunfire one is to seek cover and assess the situation in order to communicate what one observes with other law enforcement,” added the statement.

“Allegations that Mr. Peterson was a coward and that his performance, under the circumstances, failed to meet the standards of police officers are patently untrue,” concluded Peterson’s lawyer.

The statement comes just four days after the Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel confirmed Peterson never entered the building, saying he was “sick to his stomach” over the revelation.
