BROWARD COWARD: Officer Who HID During Shooting Gets $8K/Month Pension

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.16.18

The disgraced Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy who hid during the deadly school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School now receives a state pension of $8,700 per month, reports the Sun Sentinel.

Former Deputy Scot Peterson -who resigned from the police force in February before he was set to face tough questions over his actions during the rampage- began receiving the taxpayer-funded pension in April; sparking outrage from local residents.

“The 55-year-old Peterson, a Broward deputy for 32 years, was paid $101,879.03 last year — $75,673.72 in base salary plus overtime and other compensation, according to sheriff’s office records. Until the shooting, he was considered a trusted school resource officer at Stoneman Douglas, according to annual reviews of his performance,” writes the Sentinel.

The former Deputy was thrust into the national spotlight after surveillance footage emerged of Peterson taking a “defensive position” and refusing to enter the high school as Nikolas Cruz gunned down students at will.

The mass shooting left 17 people dead and dozens injured.

BROWARD COWARD: Broward Deputies Vote ‘NO CONFIDENCE’ in Sheriff Israel

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.27.18

The union of deputies in Florida’s Broward County held a vote of “no confidence” in Sheriff Scott Israel Thursday, voting to officially rebuke the department head and asking Governor Rick Scott to remove him from his position.

The members of law enforcement voted 534 to 94 to remove Israel following his reaction and response to the deadly mass shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February.

Union President Jeff Bell applauded the decision, saying “amazing leadership starts from the top, and there is no amazing leadership here,” adding that members of the union “have displayed great courage to come out and vote under threat of retaliation and reprisal from the sheriff.”

A recent report from a neighboring department -who also responded at the school shooting- publicly accused Broward County deputies “taking cover” behind trees and cars as the massacre unfolded inside the building.

The Sheriff also came under fire from missing repeated red flags surrounding 19-year old shooter Nikolas Cruz; with reports indicating his office received dozens of phone calls and tips of the impending attack that left 17 people dead.

BROWARD COWARD: New Video Shows DEPUTY WAITING Outside as MASSACRE Unfolds

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.15.18

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office released shocking new footage Thursday, showing an armed deputy standing idly outside the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School as a massacre unfolded inside the building.

The Department released the 27-minute clip that shows the immediate chaos and aftermath after 19-year old Nikolas Cruz opened fire at the Parkland, Florida high school; killing seventeen.

The surveillance footage shows Deputy Scot Peterson waiting outside the building, refusing to enter despite multiple gunshots and shattered windows as students screamed for help.

Peterson initially claimed he believed the shooter to be located outside the school, somewhere near the football field, but recently released dispatch audio shows he warned fellow officers to “stay away” from two specific buildings where Cruz conducted his rampage.

“Do not approach the 12 or 1300 building, stay at least 500 feet away,” Peterson was heard saying over the radio.
