“When we were in Moscow, we were extremely impressed by their public transportation system. The stations themselves were absolutely beautiful… It was a very, very effective system,” said Bernie.
“Also, I was impressed by the youth programs that they have. Their Palaces of Culture for the young people, a whole variety of programs for the young people, and cultural programs that go far beyond what we do in this country,” he added.

BERNIE GOES OFF: Sanders Thanks DC Liberals for Advancing ‘EXTREMIST IDEAS’
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders raised eyebrows throughout the nation’s capital Wednesday, thanking DC liberals for transforming “radical” and “extremist ideas” into “mainstream American ideas.”
Sanders was speaking at the ‘We the People’ summit in Washington, DC when he praised those in attendance for helping to advance his liberal message, saying his supporters have brought those “fringe ideas” to the masses.
“Many of the ideas that we talked about were thought to be fringe ideas, radical ideas, extremist ideas,” said the Vermont Senator. “Well, you know what? Because of your efforts, those ideas are mainstream American ideas.”
“I want to thank all of the groups here, because whether you know it or not, you have helped transform this country in so many ways,” he added.

“One of the things I think I learned on my trip, you know, as a socialist the word ‘socialism’ doesn’t frighten me […] And everybody was totally convinced that Castro was the worst guy in the world, that all the Cuban people were going to rise up in rebellion against Fidel Castro,” said Sanders.
“They forgot that he educated the kids, gave them health care, totally transformed the society. But just because Ronald Reagan dislikes these people does not mean that the people of their own nation feel the same way,” he added.
