Michael Cohen’s lawyer Lanny Davis admitted he was the “anonymous source” behind a controversial CNN story regarding Donald Trump Jr’s ‘Trump Tower Meeting’ Monday; saying he “made a mistake” when he spoke to multiple media outlets.
According to the NY Post, “Michael Cohen’s lawyer, Lanny Davis, admitted Monday to providing the information for an anonymously sourced CNN story that implied President Trump had advance knowledge of a controversial Trump Tower meeting.”
“I think the reporting of the story got mixed up in the course of a criminal investigation. We were not the source of the story,” Davis told CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
Now, Davis admits he was -in fact- the source of the story.
“I should have been more clear. I could not independently confirm the information in the CNN story,” Davis told The Post. “I’m sorry that I left that impression. I wasn’t at the meeting. The only person who could confirm that information is my client.”
Despite the admission, CNN is standing by the story.
“We stand by our story, and are confident in our reporting of it,” a CNN spokesperson told BuzzFeed Monday.

COHEN STRIKES A DEAL: Trump’s Former Attorney to Plead Guilty to Financial Fraud
President Trump’s former personal attorney is expected to strike a deal with federal prosecutors and plead guilty as early as Tuesday afternoon, Fox News has learned.
Inside sources say Michael Cohen’s decision “moved swiftly” as investigators probed possible charges of campaign finance abuse, bank fraud, and other violations.
According to the New York Times, the deal “does not involve a cooperation agreement with prosecutors.”
“Cohen is scheduled to appear at a New York federal court hearing at 4 p.m. ET. The Associated Press reports that he will plead guilty to charges including campaign finance violations, bank fraud and tax evasion,” writes Fox.
“Cohen’s offices were raided in April by federal investigators looking into his financial dealings,” adds the site.

A NEW LOW: Left-Wing Congressman Uses BARRON TRUMP to SMEAR the President
Liberal Congressman Steve Cohen used the President’s youngest son to viciously attack the Commander-in-Chief over the weekend, accusing Trump of neglecting Barron and spending his time on the golf course; bizarrely adding “He will start a war!”
Cohen smeared the President on twitter New Year’s Eve, saying reporters never “see him with Barron,” adding that “you’d think he’d be golfing with Dad occasionally, but narcissists only engage in activities where they are the show.”
“He golfs when he could be reading or be in church or be with his family. Never see him with Barron. You’d think he’d be golfing with Dad occasionally but narcissists only engage in activities where they are the show. No movies, sports viewing either just Fox! He will start a war!” tweeted the left-wing legislator.

Cohen’s comments immediately came under fire from both liberals and conservatives, warning the lawmaker that “kids are off limits.”
“You went after a child in a tweet?? What on earth is WRONG with you? Disgraceful and disgusting,” wrote one user.
