CALIFORNIA CHAOS: Democratic Party REBUKES Feinstein, Backs Liberal Challenger

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.16.18

The California Democratic Party broke with decades of tradition and officially rebuked sitting Sen. Dianne Feinstein over the weekend; throwing their full support behind a progressive challenger heading into the 2018 midterms.

According to Mercury News, the California Democrats shunned the long-serving Senator in a recent vote, endorsing challenger Kevin De Leon and setting the stage for a high-stakes primary showdown in the coming weeks.

“The endorsement gives De León a big morale boost as he faces an uphill race against the powerful incumbent, and underscores how Golden State Democrats have shifted to the left in the age of Trump,” writes Mercury.

De Leon -a state Senator from Los Angeles- seeks to unseat Feinstein, who has served in office for more than two and half decades.

“Today’s vote is a clear-eyed rejection of politics as usual in Washington, D.C.,” De León said in a statement. “The nation’s most accomplished Democratic Party is leading the call for a new generation of leadership who will fight to advance a bold agenda.”

CALIFORNIA CHAOS: Activists Split on How, Where to Divide the State

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.22.18

Just weeks after West Coast activists successfully fought to have a measure on this fall’s ballot on whether to divide California into smaller states, the bill’s proponents are struggling to settle on exactly where and how to carve up the Golden State.

The movement is now split along party lines, with leading Democrats urging each new state to contain at least one major urban area; all but ensuring strong liberal support in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

GOP activists are calling on the state to be divided along rural and urban lines, with one section containing the coastline’s major metropolitan areas and two additional, rural states towards the north and interior.

“With Draper, he makes sure every area has an urbanized zone that will ultimately be blue. You still have the rural-urban thing going on in his formula,” said a GOP supporter. “The rural people will be shafted again.”

CALIFORNIA CHAOS: DOJ to INVESTIGATE Oakland Mayor After ICE TIP-OFF

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.02.18

The White House confirmed this week that the Department of Justice was launching an investigation into a California mayor who tipped-off illegal immigrants of impending ICE sweeps; calling the left-wing politicians actions “outrageous,” reports the Los Angeles Times.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders called-out Oakland, California Mayor Libby Schaaf Thursday over her decision to publicly disclose imminent immigration crackdowns throughout the Bay Area, telling residents to be on the lookout for federal agents within their communities.

“I think it’s outrageous that a mayor would circumvent federal authorities and certainly put them in danger by making a move such as that,” said Sanders, adding that her actions were currently “under review” to see if she violated federal law.

“The Oakland mayor’s decision to publicize her suspicions about ICE operations further increased that risk for my officers and alerted criminal aliens — making clear that this reckless decision was based on her political agenda with the very federal laws that ICE is sworn to uphold,” said ICE’s acting director.

Oakland, like many other California municipalities, considers itself a ‘Sanctuary City,’ often shielding illegal immigrants and undocumented workers from federal authorities and border patrol agents.
