Former Mayor of San Francisco Gavin Newsom’s once-giant lead over his GOP challenger in California’s gubernatorial race shrank to single digits this week; raising serious questions over whether a Republican can re-take the state’s highest office.
According to a new poll conducted by Probolsky Research between August 29th and September 2nd, Newsom’s lead shrank to just five points against California businessman John Cox.
“The Hispanic vote has been a source of frustration for Newsom, who has basically split that constituency with Cox, despite Hispanics historically preferring Democrats,” writes Fox News.
“This is a great reference point for everything John talks about,” said Cox campaign spokesman Matt Shupe. “It’s about bringing more transparency to government. It’s about approaching issues like a businessman. It’s about reforming a government entity that nobody is happy with.”

CALIFORNIA CHAOS: Gavin Newsom Calls for Free Healthcare for Region's ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS
Democratic candidate for Governor of California Gavin Newsom raised eyebrows across the state this week; calling for a universal healthcare program to cover millions of illegal immigrants residing in the region.
Newsom was speaking on the left-leaning “Pod Save America” podcast when he weighed-in on his fellow Democrats proposal for a “Medicare for All” system; saying a universal healthcare scheme should apply to every person -regardless of immigration status- living in California.
“I did universal health care when I was mayor– fully implemented, regardless of pre-existing condition, ability to pay, and regardless of your immigration status. San Francisco is the only universal health care plan for all undocumented residents in America. Very proud of that,” Newsom said. “I’d like to see that extended to the rest of the state.”

GAVIN’S GOALS: Newsom Releases His List of ‘BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS’ for All Americans
Former Mayor of San Francisco and Democratic candidate for Governor of California Gavin Newsom published his official list of “basic human rights” this week, saying all Americans deserve an “affordable” home and “healthcare.”
Newsom posted his manifesto on social media, saying everyone in the United States should have access to clean water, food, healthcare, education, and housing.
Clean air.
Clean water.
Food to feed your family.
Healthcare that doesn’t bankrupt you.
An education that prepares you for the future.
An affordable, safe place to call home.
These should not be outlandish ideas.
These should be basic human rights.

Newsom’s list comes months before Democrats make their push to retake Congress this November, with liberal candidates calling for more federal programs; including expanded healthcare, housing, and free college.
