The United State and Mexican authorities have reportedly reached a bilateral agreement this week; allowing members of the ‘migrant caravan’ to remain in northern Mexico as the US processes thousands of asylum claims.
“Migrants heading to the southwest border to seek asylum in the United States will have to wait in Mexico until their claims are processed, under an agreement between the two countries announced on Thursday that will affect tens of thousands of people each month,” writes the Associated Press.
“They will not be able to disappear into the United States,” said DHS Secretary Nielsen. “They will have to wait for approval. If they are granted asylum by a U.S. judge, they will be welcomed into America. If they are not, they will be removed to their home countries.”
The Mayor of Tijuana and other local officials slammed the ‘caravan’ in recent weeks; saying funds and other resources are being taken away from citizens as thousands of immigrants wait for admission into the United States.

CARAVAN CRISIS: Migrant Caravan Swells to 14,000, Heads Towards USA
The migrant caravan slowly making its way towards the United States’ southern border with Mexico continued to grow in recent days, with local reporters saying the marching immigrants are now estimated at 14,000 individuals.
According to Newsweek, the “caravan” is gradually gaining more members as it makes its way north towards American border crossings in Texas and California.
“In a series of tweets, President Donald Trump has unsuccessfully urged Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador to halt the migrant caravan, which is believed to have reached more than 14,000 members in southern Mexico,” writes Newsweek.
The President has routinely warned the migrants to return to their home countries in recent days, saying “We are a great Sovereign Nation. We have Strong Borders and will never accept people coming into our Country illegally!”

CARAVAN CRISIS: DHS Confirms More than ‘500 Criminals’ Traveling with ‘Migrant Caravan’
The Department of Homeland Security issued a stark warning regarding the approaching ‘migrant caravan’ Monday; confirming at least ‘500 criminals’ are traveling with the Central American immigrants.
DHS officials made the stunning announcement during a conference call with reporters Monday afternoon; saying “most of the caravan members are not women and children” but are comprised of mostly single adult males or teenagers.
“More than 500 criminals are traveling with the migrant caravan that’s massed on the other side of a San Diego border crossing,” writes Fox News.
“All legal options are on the table and we have been negotiating with all our partners in central America with ways to deal with the caravan,” said one official.
Unfortunately, some members of the caravan are purposely causing disruptions at our border ports of entry. There is a legal and illegal way to enter the US. We have deployed additional forces to protect our border. We will enforce all our laws.
