Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer doubled-down on the Democrats’ flat-out refusal to budge on border security Friday; saying his party was “firmly against the wall” and future proposals should focus on “humanitarian aid.”
After Trump reopened the gov, Schumer says there will be no wall.
"Democrats are against the wall."
Says GOP will get funding to "humanitarian aide."
Exactly what GOP voter base wants, more humanitarian aide.
Schumer then says he hopes Trump has "learned a lesson."

“We in Congress will roll-up our sleeves and try and try to find some agreement on border security. We don’t agree on some specifics on border security. Democrats are firmly against the wall. But we agree on many things such as the need for drug inspection technology and humanitarian aid,” said Sen. Schumer.
“Today, the President will sign the bill to re-open the government… and hopefully it means a lesson learned for the White House,” he added.

ARMAGEDDON AGAIN? Pelosi Warns Government Could be ‘CLOSED FOREVER’ Over Budget Fight
Likely Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi escalated her war-of-words with the Trump administration Thursday; saying the government could be “closed forever” because of her opposition to the President’s border wall.
Pelosi was speaking with reporters during her weekly press conference at the Capitol when she was asked if she planned to cave to the President’s security demands.
Pelosi predicts the government will stay "closed forever" because she is never going to fund the border wall.

“Let’s hope there won’t be a shutdown of the government. That’s a very bad thing to do, maybe the President doesn’t grasp that. That is very harmful to our country at significant cost,” said Pelosi.
“They still voted against opening up the government [the last time.] Does he want to have government closed forever? What’s this about? I know he doesn’t believe in government,” she added.
BAD VACATION: Trump Slams Top Democrats for ‘Celebrating Shutdown’ in Puerto Rico
President Trump didn’t mince words when commenting on the Democrats’ recent trip to Puerto Rico Monday; saying he was in the nation’s capital “all weekend” while liberal lawmakers were “celebrating” the shutdown on a tropical beach.

“I’ve been here all weekend. A lot of the Democrats were in Puerto Rico celebrating something. I don’t know, maybe they’re celebrating the shutdown. We have a very big crisis on the border. Everybody knows it, they know it,” said the president.
“The Republicans are rock solid, we’ve got to take care of our border. Many of the people that aren’t being paid right now are in total agreement with us,” he added.
