DAY OF RECKONING: Grassley Schedules Date for Hillary Email Hearings

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.30.18

Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee Chuck Grassley announced Wednesday his date to convene hearings on the Inspector General’s explosive report on the DOJ’s handling of the botched Clinton email investigation; confirming the Senate will review the findings on June 5th.

Grassley’s office unveiled the date this week, confirming his committee will hold hearings within the first week of June, titled, “Examining the Inspector General’s First Report on Justice Department Decisions Regarding the 2016 Presidential Election.”

Those with first-hand knowledge of the Inspector General’s report say the findings call-out senior FBI officials -including former Director James Comey and Deputy Director Andrew McCabe- for mishandling the probe into Clinton’s use of a private email server to exchange classified material.

Current and former officials in the FBI and the DOJ are expected to appear before the committee to face tough questions over the agency’s handling of the investigation, but no list has been made public.

GRASSLEY GOES ROGUE: Says His Panel WILL VOTE on MUELLER ‘Protections’

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.19.18

Just one day after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell confirmed he had “no plans” to vote on official “protections” for Robert Mueller, Sen. Chuck Grassley announced his panel will go forward and vote on the proposed legislation.

According to USA Today, Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley said Thursday his committee will vote next week on a bill to protect the special counsel from being fired by President Trump.

“Some have raised the question of why the committee plans on proceeding with the markup despite the fact that the majority leader has indicated that he will not take this bill up on the floor,” said Grassley. “The views of the majority leader are obviously important to consider, but they do not govern what happens here on the Judiciary Committee.”

The Special Counsel Independence and Integrity Act was introduced last week by Sen. Lindsey Graham and Sen. Chris Coons, and prevents President Trump from removing Mueller from his Russia probe without Congressional approval.

“Where there are issues of national importance, such as the appointment of special counsels and the investigation of a sitting president, Congress must consider its constitutional role and act to make sure that it can avail itself of its traditional checks against the executive branch,” Grassley added.

GRASSLEY UNCHAINED: Chuck Grassley DEMANDS FBI’s McCabe ‘Be Replaced’

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.19.17

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley didn’t mince words while commenting on the numerous scandals surrounding Robert Mueller’s Russia-Trump investigation, saying FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe “out to be replaced.”

Grassley was speaking with Bloomberg News when he made the surprise demand, blasting McCabe and other FBI officials over recent reports of widespread anti-Trump bias throughout the agency.

“Trump ought to stay out of it,” Grassley said. “I think it’s a Christopher Wray job.”

“[McCabe] oughta be replaced. And I’ve said that before and I’ve said it to people who can do it,” he added.

McCabe will appear before the House Intelligence Committee this week, answering questions over his handling of special counsel Robert Mueller’s months-long investigation into the 2016 election.

The FBI and DOJ were thrust into the national spotlight earlier this month, after a bombshell report showed senior FBI agents exchanging blatantly anti-Trump text messages.
