FUND THE WALL: Trump Refuses to Back Budget Deal without Border Wall Funding

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.20.18

President Trump told congressional leaders Thursday that he will not sign a budget agreement that fails to include funding for his border wall; increasing the likelihood of a partial “government shutdown” heading towards Friday’s deadline.

“House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., told reporters after meeting the president at the White House Thursday afternoon that Trump told them he will not sign the stopgap spending measure,” writes Fox News.

“What we’re going to do is go back to the House and work with our members,” Ryan said. “We want to keep the government open but we also want to see an agreement that protects the border. We have very serious concerns about securing our border.”

“The president said what the Senate sent over is just kicking the can down the road,” McCarthy said. “We want to solve this problem.”

'GET A GRIP': GOP Senator Tells Cory Booker to ‘GET A GRIP’ After Anti-Trump Meltdown

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.26.18

Republican Senator John Cornyn implored Cory Booker to settle down after his most recent anti-Trump meltdown this week; urging the liberal legislator to “get a grip” after he called Justice Kavanaugh supporters “complicit in evil.”

Cornyn was speaking on the Senate floor Wednesday when he called-on Booker to calm down after his recent tirade; adding that “everybody’s trying to out do everybody else.”

“I thought that would pretty much take the cake until I saw a report this morning that one of our colleagues across the aisle said that supporting Judge Kavanaugh would make you ‘complicit in evil,’” said Cornyn.

“It’s hard to take statements like that seriously. It’s completely unhinged and detached from any reality […] My advice to some of our friends across the aisle is get a grip, get a grip,” he added.

'TOTAL CATASTROPHE': Four Separate IMMIGRATION BILLS FAIL in US Senate

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.16.18

Four separate immigration bills crashed and burned in the US Senate this week, capping off a week of fiery debate, negotiations, and eventually defeat as both the President’s proposal and a bipartisan bill failed to secure enough votes.

Trump’s four-part immigration plan -which would provide a pathway to citizenship for nearly two million ‘Dreamers,’ fund his border wall, and end “chain” migration- went down in defeat, with many Republicans joining their Democrat colleagues and sinking the bill in a 39-60 vote.

The Senate’s bipartisan deal also fell short just hours after Trump threatened to veto the bill he described as a “total catastrophe.”

“The Schumer-Rounds-Collins immigration bill would be a total catastrophe. @DHSgov says it would be ‘the end of immigration enforcement in America.’ It creates a giant amnesty (including for dangerous criminals), doesn’t build the wall, expands chain migration, keeps the visa,” Trump tweeted.

The Senate’s inability to pass any immigration deal comes as the March 5th deadline looms with the nation’s DACA program officially expiring; throwing into question the fate of millions of ‘Dreamers’ currently residing in the United States.
